NATHEN ASWELL, Tenor
former member (replaced by David Steele)

Born in Montreal, Nathen has been a professional bassist/vocalist for 25 years, graduating from Concordia University’s Music Program in 1985. Since making Vancouver his home in 1992, he has made himself indispensable -- both live and in the studio -- to a number of local and international acts.

Some recent highlights of Nathen’s career include:

  • Recent touring with Shari Ulrich and Randy Bachman.
  • Performing on CBC TV's "TransCanada Comedy Trail (to be re-broadcast on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 7 PM) as part The Hitmen (aka "Tom Arntzen and The B.C. Buds")
  • Performing at Canada Place on Canada Day with Shari Ulrich (July 2001)
  • Touring California as a member of  “The Euphorics”, (March 2001)
  • Performing in Montreal as a member of “The Fundamentals”, the house band at the International Just For Laughs Comedy Festival (July 2000)
  • Recording folksinger/songwriter Lowry Olafson's CD “Days That Disappear Too Soon” (March 2000).

When he isn’t on the bandstand as a leader or a sideman in a number of different groups, Nathen is busy mastering the Warr guitar (a 12-stringed instrument played by tapping its strings simultaneously with both hands) and writing music in his Macintosh/ProTools home recording studio.
